Today marked our last day in the parks for this trip to Orlando. And we saved the best for last. Magic Kingdom.
Why is Magic Kingdom our favorite? Mostly because this is where our memories of Disney were formed. There are rides here that, while not thrilling, are deeply rooted in our histories.
But I get ahead of myself. Yesterday we spent a rather relaxing day at Epcot. Epcot has always been a favorite of ours, but especially now as adults. We spent the day exploring, as well as enjoying many adult beverages. Let us tell you, there is nowhere on Earth that a Schofferhofer tastes as good as it does at the German pavilion. Maybe in Munich, but nowhere else. And a margarita and flight of tequila just tases better in the Mexican pavilion. IYKYK.

We stayed at Epcot last night to watch the fireworks show again, this time from the shoreline with the “common folk”. The show was just as amazing, but we both preferred being in a pontoon boat on the water!
Coming into this trip, we were both most excited about today’s visit to Magic Kingdom. Because we had already booked entrance times to our favorite rides using Lightening Lane, we were able to have a leisurely breakfast at Livvy before heading to the park. It is really nice to be able to take our time even while visiting Disney.
We had a short, convenient boat ride from the campground to the entrance gates to Magic Kingdom, a huge benefit of camping here. Disembarking from the boat and walking under the railroad, we were greeted with one of the most amazing sites – Main Street, USA.

I know Disney isn’t for everyone. And I completely understand why some people do not like it. But for us, walking into the sights and smells of Disney brings back extraordinary memories and wonderful anticipation. The wonder of being a kid again. Time to suspend belief and worry and just live in the moment.
We started the day with Haunted Mansion, the favorite for both of us. It was everything we remembered and loved! We then rode Pirates of the Caribbean, another classic. We have wax melts that smell like the water in the ride just to remind us of it. Following both of those was Jungle Cruise (renamed Jingle Cruise during the holiday season). The corny jokes were as funny as always!!

Thanks to Karen’s endless checking, she was able to schedule us a set time on one of the newest rides – Tron Lightcycle. Tron is a rollercoaster, so it says a lot that Karen wanted to ride! She was a little nervous at the start, especially given that the “seats” are more like motorcycle seats, and you ride bent over grasping handlebars. I thought the ride was immensely fun, but Karen may not have been so enthusiastic. LOL.
We left the park around 4:00pm, having both had enough of the parks. The weather was much cooler than the past few days, allowing us the ability to sit outside for a drink. We are now getting ready to walk to the front of the park to pick up the Needy Bichon from her pet hotel visit. It was truly a wonderful experience to be in the Disney parks again. But we still have 4 VERY relaxing days in Orlando at the fantastic campground before we leave. We intend to enjoy it!
