It seems like forever since we’ve been in Livvy. Truth is, it’s only been a few weeks. For those of you who know, however, it has been a CRAZY few weeks. You see, after our last trip to Hocking Hills, we were looking forward to almost 4 weeks off the road, taking time to relax and enjoy our lovely home.
Instead – we bought a new (to us) house. And not only that, it was a very quick close. Oh, and we painted nearly the entire interior before the movers came. And we added/replaced multiple lights and ceiling fans. And we replaced the outside lighting. And we hired and scheduled siding and garage doors to be replaced. And we hired a contractor to renovate the kitchen. And we (Karen mostly) figured out how to fit our 3,100 square foot lifestyle into a 1,780 square foot home. Yes, all of that in just over 3 weeks.
Needless to say, the new house was WELL worth the work. It has an amazing sunroom, where we spend the majority of our indoor time. The backyard and patio are private and wonderfully landscaped. One bathroom has a huge soaking tub – a requirement for Karen. And both full baths have heated floors. All boxes were checked. We have joked that this will be the LAST move of our life. Actually, the next move will be feet first out the front door.
Leaving Bay Village this morning on this 19 day trip felt different than our previous departures. It’s probably because it sort of felt like going on vacation from work. There was no downtime, we went from working hard on the house to working hard to prep and pack for this trip. Now, as we sit and relax at out first stop in Carrolton, Kentucky, we can finally unwind and get excited for what’s in store over the coming few weeks.
After a bit of a “noisy” start, Peeta (a cat) has adjusted perfectly to being in the RV again. He is normally a very vocal cat, and even more so in a moving vehicle. But he quickly calmed down and is at ease. Daisy (a needy Bichon) could be at the literal gates of Hell and, so long as Karen in nearby, she’d be fine. No adjustment needed. As I write, they both are relaxing in their home on wheels.

We have some fun days and locations ahead, including a visit with the big mouse, so keep checking in. And we’ll be on the road again.
