A “roarin” good time

What an amazing day in Yosemite. For a woman who craves water features, this was heaven. Being in Yosemite in the springtime is so perfect as the water is in motion (literally ROARing) and the crowds are lesser. My kind of adventure.

The entrance into the park from El Portal… Rick drove it on Sunday, I did it today. I have gained plenty of courage driving Livvy!
Bridalveil falls is so aptly named. We started in the warm sun on this short hike mid-morning, but the mist was substantial, the roar was significant, and we couldn’t wait to get back to the sun to warm up!

Livvy and the animals, while we were at Bridalveil falls

Next stop included the swinging bridge meadow and a place where we could walk Daisy. Good to tire her out! (it doesn’t take much)

Great early view of the Yosemite falls from our walk with Daisy
And then we went without the animals back to the lower Yosemite Falls. It was fantastic!! What a roar and we again got cold from the mist of the falls.
From the falls trail, we decided to make a journey of it. We went through some amazing areas, including this that reminded us of the cove in Maine???? (already looking forward to August)
Just a great 7 mile stroll through amazing views of the valley loop trail… animals were safely tucked away with a breeze and some shade.
The base of El Capitan was our turnaround point. Had a great halfway snack of a beautiful Yosemite Chocolate Chip Walnut cookie. It was much needed so I didn’t melt down during this incredible journey.
Yep, rock climbers. We saw another 8 or so today. Pics can’t capture it. Words can’t describe what if feels to see those brave (crazy) people doing this
Yeah, no thanks…
Personally, I enjoyed the Dogwoods and waterfalls as much as the mountains. Funny, when we checked in tonight, those were the two things that the camp host mentioned about the valley. So much grandeur but also the little things that stand out, especially this time of year
Tunnel view was just up out of the valley on our way to tonight’s destination. We literally drove through a tunnel after this, and up/down several thousand feet, but not before this amazing view of the valley we enjoyed the last couple of days
Another spectacular campsite (thank you Rick), albeit a bit delayed. We delayed this a few days thanks to the snowstorm and so glad that we did so that we could enjoy the dry, warm weather outside (and safe travels)
I think that NB likes it too
Love being along a quiet creek to enjoy a celebratory evening in Yosemite
Had to start with some of the valley’s finest, from the Yosemite village store
Tonight is all about Paradiso, one of our favorite wines from Napa. Paired with our wonderful homemade hamburger helper. Go ahead a mock it (others have done so before they tried it). What a celebration of our second night staying in the park!
This captures the day for me… almost 10 miles of beautiful, peaceful hiking.
