“Home” sweet “home”

These are my kind of days. Even when we are in good old Avon, OH. As much as I love adventure and exploring, I seem to need the “at home” days as a balance, even more in recent years. So today has filled my cup in important ways.

We started with fresh picked, fresh squeezed orange juice. Seriously amazing, especially since I picked them off the tree while walking Daisy this am.

Oh, and let’s pause to catch you up on the Needy Bichon for a moment. We are so very happy for another good Rover (pet sitting app) experience! I found someone close by who was willing to watch her yesterday for us. Her name is Ellie and she is a local college student who is just getting started on Rover. After we texted a bit, she even offered to do drop off and pickup service for us from the campground! (and we tipped her handsomely for that). We also met her roommates, who all seemed to spoil her all day. That of course led to yesterday being that much more relaxing and extended than we originally thought. Everyone had a great day, including Peeta who was happy to have the “house” comfortably all to himself in the A/C yesterday.

Back to today… after our fresh squeezed OJ, coffee and breakfast it was time to work. We both really wanted to get things back in order and today was the day. Laundry is done; there literally is an app for everything and the washer/dryers here were connected to an app and really easy to use. The RV is super clean inside as we had the time/space to do a thorough cleaning. That is something that makes both of us really happy, especially with nearly a month to go on the road. We’ll admit, the outside is a splattered, buggy mess but we haven’t found the right solution for that yet. We’re working on it.

Then it was off the pool for a couple of hours; it was heated just right, not many people and there was a wonderful breeze.

We also did some real fruit picking – got the picker contraption from the office and filled a nice sized bag with oranges, plus a few grapefruit and one ripe lemon. There are literally hundreds of oranges, so we will be getting more tomorrow before we leave. I’m in heaven. And yes, we each had one beautiful orange vodka soda before dinner.

Dinner was also a new experience as we finally used the awesome induction cooktop that Jennifer, Kim and Tom got us as a retirement gift. Our buffalo chicken burgers came out great and it was nice to have something different than the many casseroles/soups we have been eating at dinner. We will definitely be enjoying that more often!

We’re back on the road in the am with many great adventures ahead, but we will leave with fond memories of the Orangeland RV park!

I had an awesome quiet morning with these two, enjoying a great novel. We have had quite a bit of time to read on this trip
At the pool with a great view of Livvy, and close enough that I could hear if Daisy started barking, too. She did, as soon as it was dinnertime for her!
Just another perfect day…
Peeta loves the open windows for the fresh breeze and seeing new things, especially on a clean bed
Induction cooktop – plugs right into our electric! And the buffalo chicken burgers turned out great

Time to sell the old homestead in Avon Oh and just stay on the road forever, traveling to and fro ( as long as to and fro does not include snow storms and ice).
